Fancy for some nice and rich curry noodles? One of my favourite and I would rate it at top 5 is MC Curry Mee at Taman Seri Muda in Shah Alam. The owner used to operate a canteen in a factory but decided to switch business because of problem employing staff. The noodles is only available at this place in the morning and afternoon, at night they moved to coffeeshop near Public Bank next to Kesas. Since Micol asked for the address after I MMS her, check address at the bottom ;).

I ordered a big size one, which surprisingly still cost RM3.80!!! What value for money as what is inside includes noodles of your choice, long beans, chicken, taupok, etc. The best part is not just value but it tasted very rich, superbly yummy. A squeeze of lime on your sambal before adding it to the curry mee is a must!

What makes the noodles good is the curry base itself, they are particular about the ingredients used and all these recipes originate from Penang (I actually knew the family :P). So if you are in Shah Alam, give it a try, worth the trouble ;).

At the junction of Jalan Abd Hamid and Jalan Temiang in Seremban, at the corner of the row of food stalls along Jalan Temiang, you will see a yellow banner stating “wood fried koay teow” in Chinese. I was introduced to this place by Micol as she told me that its quite popular among the locals. It was about 10 plus almost 11pm then, there is no long queue but you can see the owner is frying non stop still and waiting time is about 5 minutes, not too bad.

A plate of the fried koay teow cooked with hot flaming wood fire cost RM3.00 per plate. Its a bit oily at first look, taste wise is alright but what makes this koay teow really nice are the clams (si hum) and good old crispy fried pork lards. The clams are not too raw, neither overcooked, just right. The koay teow is not too strong in taste but the pork lards make it just nice.

I don’t think this koay teow is for everyone, but for those whom like old school cooking, oily and crispy pork lards type, then this is the koay teow for you ;).

Nope this is not the popular Ah Sang Bak Kut Teh in Sg Way but its located just right down the road. I am not sure what is the name of this place, that is the problem of being banana, cannot read Chinese words but don’t see them having a signboard anyway :P

We usually parked at the open air parking place next to the Indian temple and walked up the stairs, then instead of turning left to Ah Sang, turned right and then first turning on left. Its operated from a house at it’s front porch.

The bak kut teh here are pretty decent and not bad… nothing short of the ordinary and it is less packed and price is average too. Quite ok alternative for bak kut teh in Sg Way for me :)

Restoran Wah Chai is just a regular small kedai kopi in Bukit TInggi Klang but what caught my attention here is their wan tan mee which comes in all sort of creative style. From the regular wan tan mee to things like curry chicken wan tan mee, honey bbq ribs wan tan mee, laksa wan tan mee, etc.

I snapped a photo of the signboard of the listing with my dopod (the worst camera you can get in a phone) as per the above, think you probably need to zoom your browser to see it. Its stated that the noodles starts from RM4.00 (hope there is no increase with the recent ridiculous increase of fuel prices) depending on the different type of style they have to offer.

I was there in the afternoon and they only had the regular and the laksa char sau wan tan mee left. I took the laksa char sau style, its basically a thick curry and laksa like gravy poured over the regular char sau (chinese bbq pork) and dried wan tan mee.

Its pretty good and not too bad. Its not something I would travel miles to eat (especially paying off my nose for fuel now) now but when I am in the area and wanted something different, I would definitely go there again ;).

I got conned by KC to go to the Jalan Kenari area in Puchong with him during lunch time to do his “chores” and we were wondering what to eat there. Its been a while since I come to this area and wow… the number of eateries that have grown here is shocking! I just wonder if there are so many people in Puchong to fill up all the food businesses here. Almost every corner is a makan place here!

Anyhow, parking is always a problem here during lunch and we got a parking near this double shop named the Grill King. I remembered watching a highlight of this place in the 1 day 5 meals show on WLT, Astro and decided to gave it a try.

We both ordered their Grilled Chicken Chop, its about RM8.90 for a piece of grilled chicken with some side dishes. It tasted fantastic, very tasty just like most Hainan style chicken chop. There is only 1 problem, the chicken portion is really small to me. KC had the same problem, both of us are still hungry. So we ordered their Wat Tan Hor (cantonese fried kaoy teow) for RM6.90.

The Wan Tan Hor looks just ok but its actually very nice too! I must say the food here is quite good, only thing is the portion given which is really small in my opinion but then again, otherwise how to keep the price low? :P

But I think can give it a try and don’t be shy ordering more cause the portion is not very big :).
