Seri Kembangan, KL - Fook Hin Bak Kut Teh

Nope… this post have nothing to do with bak kut teh… I was at Fook Hin BKT for dinner, but I noticed its more of a seafood kind of place just like unique selling fresh and live seafood rather than bak kut teh, maybe its sold there in the day time perhaps ;).

Its Joe’s and KC’s big day, so we got together to celebrate their birthday and as our silly tradition goes, the birthday boys buy, thanks Joe & KC!!!

Finding this place is firstly a little challenge, its basically one of the corner houses in the village here converted into a restaurant. There’s limited parking in front, so do expect to be called to reserve your car during dinner but we went on a weekday, so the crowd is not that bad.

John & Joe did the ordering, the first to come out is a plate of steamed chicken with vegetables, nice to dip with the garlic ginger paste. Chicken is pretty standard, nothing much to shout about. Next up are pork knucles braised with chicken feet (I still miss the pork knucles with goose web in Sitiawan!) which is not too bad.

The goodies for the night then comes, firstly steam snakehead fish (sang yue), the flesh are sliced steam with the fish itself, soft, tender and yummy. Next is the silver promfet, steamed teow chew style, I just wish it was a little more sour and a little spicy chili padi would be great, but the fish meat itself is good and tender. The other yummy is their steamed frog legs with ginger and garlic paste, very soft and tasty! Lastly, one of my favourite all time its the lotus root fried with celery, carrot and cashew nuts, a must have!

We also order a plate of greens to fill up our vitamins needs ;). All together with rice, the 7 dishes plus 5 bottles of beers adds up to about RM280-290 (can’t remember, this is what happen when you don’t have pay for it :P) for 10 persons. Oh ya, they don’t accept credit card, so make sure you bring cash!
