Peninsula Malaysia Makan Trip 2.5 – Part 3 – Day 2, Melaka – Toast, Bak Chang & Mee Suah

Con’t part 2…

The next day, we all head and meet up at Siang Chiang coffeshop with Sky talked highly about for breakfast. On the way there, my truck it hits 100,000 mileage… that is just in 2 years and 10 months time, that proved I have really been traveling around Malaysia like crazy!

We got to Siang Chiang and something hits me… its Melaka, you need to pay parking even if its a weekend but not sure do I need to pay on public holiday… heck to be on the save side, I bought a book for 5 X hourly tickets at RM3.00 and used one of it.

Siang Chiang is a busy place for breakfast, lucky for us a table is just about to leave as we walked in and Sky quickly alerted us to grab it, grab it, grab it quick he said… hehehe… kan cheong betul. So, we settled ourselves, got nice Malaccan coffee to help us stay alert for the day and how can you not have toast and half boiled eggs. Then I saw the bak chang (dumplings) and couldn’t resist, so we got a normal bak chang and a Nyonya bak chang to try. I really like the nyonya bak chang, its a little sweet but very tasty and you almost can’t stop eating it.

Sky ordered a must eat for us… it the mee suah from 1 of the stall in Siang Chiang. The wait is long, so the moment we sat, he had already placed the order. Our mee suah is extra everything size, which surprised the aunties next table whom asked if we order normal, cause their mee suah seems smaller than ours, hehe. Its cost RM5.00 per plate but its worth every single cent of it.

The mee suah we ordered are dried with dark sauce topped with 5-6 mid size prawns, vegetables, char siew (bbq pork), fried dried anchovies and shredded chicken. The whole plate was just huge and prawns keep poping up as you eat your noodles away, mee suah itself is good and topping are heavenly!

I can instantly feel weight gain coming on that morning with all the good food in Melaka in just 1 night! Anyhow, after that its was time to head out and our next destination is Kluang in Johor where we will be meeting the Chung family.
