Its lunch time and the ’2 shy boys of cyberjaya’ (new nick for you know who you are!) brought me to Dengkil for lunch… this time, we are trying out One One Three Seafood there. Its just opposite the community hall in Dengkil in Jalan Aman 1. Its a corner shop but opposite the road they have an outdoor area with canopy.

I was being haunted by Bangkok Joe with issues on the phone when I got there so this time I leave the ordering to the 2 shy boys of cyberjaya la…. after all these are the local worms… can’t argue with them right?

Since there are only 4 of us… the order is a small pot of curry fish head, a plate of ku lou yok (sweet sour pork) and a plate for fried vege (I am surprised, one of the shy boy will order vege!)…. anyway.. the curry was ok.. lots of fish and vege, its a more yellowish type… probably the curry base they use is different but I still prefer thicker fish head curry.

Ku lou yok is not bad, pretty nice and vege is standard la… they have this pei par duck, about 20 plus for half a bird but we didn’t try this round. Even in the afternoon, thanks to the many fans they have… its still don’t feel too hot eating in the open. The bill came up to RM45 for all the above plus tea and rice for 4 of us :) .

Was on the way to Putrajaya this morning and decided to stop at Puchong for breakfast… Restoran Fong Lei in Pusat Bandar Puchong (just next to 7-11) was on the way and the crowd seems to be good here.

We stopped here and I headed to get a copy of the day’s paper… then I noticed the prawn mee stall seems to be popular and they were already a bunch of roast duck hanging there ready for sale later… if I am not wrong this is the Fei Kor Roast Duck… gotta try it one day.

Then as I sat down and order my drinks… I noticed the 2 most busy stalls here is the wan tan mee and pork noodles stall. Both stalls give out numbers for customer waiting for their order and there’s are customer always customers waiting for take away and its only 7.50am in the morning.

So I gave the wan tan mee a try… i got no. 5 and I saw the Indonesia worker serving order no.3, naturally I am happy that I am the next two person in line… well… I am wrong.. haha… its random because yeow whom order less than 1 minute after me got no. 75!

Anyway, I waited about 10-15 mins (because its still early 8am in the morning?)… then my wan tan mee costing me RM4. Then I can understand what’s the fuss all out.

IMAGE_511

The first thing I like about this wan tan mee is the char siew… this is chuncky char siew with slighty hard skin… gives you a firm but very tasty bite with a little bit of fats… very good! Next the vege used is not the typical pesticides filled choy sum but boiled bayam leaves… excellent choice, reminds me of my mum’s bayam boiled in soup. The noodles is not bad and wan tan is very tasty.

Overall, I am really satisfied with the wan tan mee here… the noodles on its own I won’t say its the best, the best I had tried is still in Kota Bharu in Kelantan believe it or not… but the toppings all receive full marks from me. Next time, I am going to try the pork noodles and the roast duck ;) .

I remember when I was a young kid when there are no such thing as hypermarket and only a handful of supermarket around, the main source of grocery as the local neighbour hood kedai runcit… one of the favourite things to buy at the kedai runcit are their chocolate wafer… which comes in big tin that you need to buy by the amount required.

Now, we get our biscuits from hypermarket, supermarket and even the pasar malam stalls starts to prepack biscuits and sell nowadays. However, here in Sg Way in SS9A PJ… just on the main street next to 7-11 lies Bee Kee… an old time shop that have now been replaced by 7-11. It still operates from the unit upstairs but I was told its not selling to the public, wholesale maybe but I am not sure.

IMAGE_504

However, on the staircase, Bee Kee is still selling biscuits to the local community by the tins. Simply pick the biscuits of your choice (pricing are marked on the tins) and amount you want and they will weight to your order. But of course, time have changed, even most of the biscuits in tins you buy there are the common supermarket brand like Julie, Khong Guan and etc.

I bought a packet of spiral ear biscuits at RM2 here, used to love this biscuits when I was a kid and it was really good to have it again bringing back my childhood memories ;) .

So if you are in the area, do checkout the staircase biscuits stall, the GPS waypoint is N3 05.136 E101 37.232.
