Puchong – Wan Tan Mee @ Restoran Fong Lei

Was on the way to Putrajaya this morning and decided to stop at Puchong for breakfast… Restoran Fong Lei in Pusat Bandar Puchong (just next to 7-11) was on the way and the crowd seems to be good here.

We stopped here and I headed to get a copy of the day’s paper… then I noticed the prawn mee stall seems to be popular and they were already a bunch of roast duck hanging there ready for sale later… if I am not wrong this is the Fei Kor Roast Duck… gotta try it one day.

Then as I sat down and order my drinks… I noticed the 2 most busy stalls here is the wan tan mee and pork noodles stall. Both stalls give out numbers for customer waiting for their order and there’s are customer always customers waiting for take away and its only 7.50am in the morning.

So I gave the wan tan mee a try… i got no. 5 and I saw the Indonesia worker serving order no.3, naturally I am happy that I am the next two person in line… well… I am wrong.. haha… its random because yeow whom order less than 1 minute after me got no. 75!

Anyway, I waited about 10-15 mins (because its still early 8am in the morning?)… then my wan tan mee costing me RM4. Then I can understand what’s the fuss all out.

The first thing I like about this wan tan mee is the char siew… this is chuncky char siew with slighty hard skin… gives you a firm but very tasty bite with a little bit of fats… very good! Next the vege used is not the typical pesticides filled choy sum but boiled bayam leaves… excellent choice, reminds me of my mum’s bayam boiled in soup. The noodles is not bad and wan tan is very tasty.

Overall, I am really satisfied with the wan tan mee here… the noodles on its own I won’t say its the best, the best I had tried is still in Kota Bharu in Kelantan believe it or not… but the toppings all receive full marks from me. Next time, I am going to try the pork noodles and the roast duck ;).
