Penang: Maxim Dim Sum @ Taman Perkaka

My aunt brought me here about 2 years ago… then according to Julian, this place is actually quite famous. Anyhow, before going to work for like 2 days straight, we had our dim sum breakfast here at Maxim Dim Sum.

Located on the ground floor of the Lip Sin building (near Tesco) at Taman Perkaka, this place is quite full even on a weekday morning and if I am not wrong, on the weekend they will have more seating area on the shop next 2 doors away.

The place is self service, so you basically take the order card on your table and then what you fancy and they will mark down the price of the items you took for billing later.

My favourite here is their steamed mussels with clams, steamed radish cake and the char siew pau is very good as well. The price starts at RM1.80 (if you go to Damansara Jaya that shop, it about RM4.00 onwards!), so pricing is really reasonable and they have a lot of varieties that you can’t find here in KL.

For both days, we ate like crazy (even till lunch time we are not hungry), it cost less than RM30.00 for the 3 of us. Tea is only RM0.90 per head, no wonder all my outstation relative always say KL is so expensive, hehe…

Anyhow, we love this place, plenty of choices, food is good and price is great! Will sure be back when I am up at the pearl of the orient again 🙂
