About a week ago, I brought a big packet of Muruku Ikan as snacks… I didn’t really look at the label details but all this while I realise they have a notice that they haev the word “barangan asli” all over it and its also stated that they will reward you RM20,000.00 if you find any company producing the same product under their brand.

I didn’t pay too much attention to those until this week when John went to bought another big packet and pass 1 to me… then hey… I realised that the packaging is slightly different, the baby drawing is different and when I compare, its a totally different brand but similar packaging, color, look and feel. John didn’t even realise it until I highlight it to him!

Both are muruku ikan but different company and brand name but both use a baby as the brand. We open up both, did a blind test and most of the people can easier tell the original brand which to us still taste nicer. The other one is somehow lacking in taste but 2 tasteless guys (let’s not mention name ) in office seems to like it though.

So, the next time you buy your muruku ikan, check first before buying! Make sure you get the one you fancy!

I saw this cupnoodle at the hypermarket the other day… its Super’s new Black Pepper Crab flavoured cupnoodles… I thought wow, these guys are getting more creative and decided to give it a try although it’s a lot more expensive than the usual cupnoodles at about RM2.60, I got one to try.

Its been lying on my desk in office for a while but this morning I decided to give it a try. In the packaging, there’s a packet of dried crabsticks (super small size), a packet of flavouring (lots of black pepper), a packet of black dark sauce and 2 packet of oil.

I put everything but only 1 packet of oil instead, didn’t want it to be so oily. I must say, the aroma is great, you just can’t wait for it to be ready to eat and its crabby aroma all over my desk. But all this excitement or maybe over expectation turn out to be dissapointing, its so so only. Although the soup is flavourfull and black pepper is strong but the noodles doesn’t taste as good as addictive as their tomyam one.

Conclusion, I will stick to Super’s Tomyam flavour cupnoodles which also cost half the price!

Happy Christmas and New Year to everyone! Time sure flies and its Christmas again… same as last year, we had a Xmas lunch at Tim’s place. The food were great, stuffing myself with turkey and ham (somehow everyone got greddy, took the bigger piece of ham and passing it to me when they can’t finish! *growing*).

We had goodies like roast turkey with cranberry sauce, ham (braised in apple juice before roasting), roast potato (with goose fats) and many more goodies. Another yummy is the brandy butter from UK with I took with pudding and the xmas cake… it was really good.

Best part was of course opening xmas present… I had a good time there with a motivation of getting back to cycling since I am really growing nowadays!
