Got conned again by KC today to follow him to Puchong for lunch today for him to do his chores :( , anyhow since he is driving, don’t want to complain so much :P . The “dei kao chung” ah John brought us to Restoran Goodwill, a typical Chinese coffeeshop.

Taiwan Loo Mei

Over there, I saw this stall known as Taiwan Loo Mei, which serve rice or porridge with stewed duck, pork, tofu, intestines, salted vegetables, etc. I saw it served to a few tables and it actually looks good! The duck are served on a heated tray with candle below, not bad for hawker’s food ;) .

Taiwan Loo Mei's Stewed Duck

I ordered a mix of duck and pork plus a whole piece of tofu with rice for RM7.50. The gravvy is light but full in taste and not oily, you can almost have it like soup with rice :) . Duck meat is tender and not too fat.

I remember when I was a little boy, about 3-4 years old when I was still staying in PJ Oldtown, my family have already been coming here for dinner. This place specialised in Teow Chew style stewed duck and it is served with either porridge or rice. I like to take mine with porridge as the duck comes with a very nice, tasty and thick sauce!

Teow Chew Stewed Duck

The duck are tender, that is the key that it is still in business and being packed on weekends till today! Some of the other side dishes available here includes stewed eggs, stewed tofu, salted vegetables and duck intestines. Just duck and rice for 1 person cost about RM6.00.

Crowd on weekdays night are better and expect a big crowd on the weekends! Just look for the coffeeshop next to UOB Bank near Menara MPPJ :) .

Pun Chun have always been a famous restaurant for travelers to stop and have a fantastic meals of duck drumstick noodles, wan tan mee, yam puff etc. in the small crosstown of Bidor in Perak. Recently, Pun Chun had opened up a branch in Kota Kemuning in Shah Alam known as the Pun Chun Noodles House.

Just like the original place in Bidor, they sell the famous chicken biscuits “kai chai peng” and all sort of biscuits here too.

I ordered the duck drumstick noodles (RM6.50 – small) and their weekend special which is curry noodles (RM4.50). They also have a variety of wan tan mee, wan tan, etc. I forgot to check if they have the same yummy yam puff here as well.

Anyhow, the drum drumstick noodles is ok but somehow the taste of the soup and the duck still doesn’t taste as good as the one in Bidor but still good :) . The curry noodles is alright, not fantastic but still yummy. But one thing, the tea is not really good but overall, ok place to go and you can see the crowd is pouring in ;) .
