Its time for department lunch and this time, my department decided to join with the design team and Elaine had helped us arranged for lunch at Zakuro for Japanese at Plaza Mont Kiara. The place is not very big, we got a room at the back, so its quite private but I wish they had come in more to refill our tea.

The price is ok here, sets are affordable, but a-la-carte a bit costly I feel but food quality is good and very tasty ;). Each of us ordered a set and some side dishes to share. One of the unique thing we ordered is toasted ginko with salt, looks interesting… but taste wise… ermm… bitter and salty, hehe. I ordered some grilled garlic, just simple garlic grilled. I thought the taste would be crazly overwhelming for the garlic but its was really ok and not too strong.

Some of the things I like here are their grilled squid with sweet sauce, very fresh and tender. The shake sashimi is not bad also, very cut and fresh but a little costly, well, you pay for good food I guess. Overall, we spent about RM444.40 for 9 persons, not too bad for the way we were ordering food :).

If you are even in Jusco Bukit Tinggi in Klang, I would highly recommend you try out Kinsahi, this Japanese restaurant on the 1st floor is not bad. But do expect a short queue as its quite popular, even after 9pm I noticed the crowd still keeps coming in.

Firstly, they will make sure they set everything on the table properly, including menu, plate, chopstick, etc. before bringing you to your table. Service is fast, as they are a lot of people working for a small place. They are also a little high tech, using a PDA to take your orders ;).

Price wise, not to say cheap, not to say too costly, above average but the food quality is really good! I ordered a Spider King Ramen, its basically your normal ramen, but they put the whole fried soft shell crab in it. But I thought its a little too salty, because they have some kind of meat floss looking thing added to the soup, otherwise is ok. Its RM19.90 for that bowl, but if you are not greedy like me, the normal ramen starts at RM11.90.

The sake sushi aka salmon sushi is priced at RM6.00 for 2 pieces, but the salmon are fresh and the serving is thick on the sushi rice. Their bbq squid is not bad too, I thought its a little costly at RM14.00 but its superbly fresh and soft, so quite worth it ;). Their soft shell crab handroll is about RM9.00 if I remember correctly.

So price wise, a little above average I would say but they compensate with a good surrounding (nice decor and setup), fast service and good food quality. Oh ya, 1 thing I don’t like is their appetizer cost RM5.00 and is not really nice, if you do go there, tell them you don’t want the appetizer, add a buck more and you get sushi :P.

Sushi Tei is located in Gadong in Brunei at the shops just in front of the Centerpoint Hotel. This is by far one of the better Japanese food I have tried in Brunei. The other great thing is that they are giving 30% on their a-la-carte menu *yippie*

I ordered the mix sashimi tei special set, at only B$9.90, you get 3 yellow fin tuna, 2 sashimi salmon, 2 abura bozu, 1 tako, 2 hotate, 2 tamago, 1 rice, 1 miso soup 1 appetizer & 1 salad!!! Talk about value for money!

Other goodies here includes their grilled seafood served in a hot plate as well as the deep fried octopus.

This is a great place with nice cozy environment and provides great value too!
