con’t from part 1…
We did a simple bbq that night but we couldn’t really get the perfect flames as the wood is not as dry as we hoped. Had to thank everyone for their effort in starting fire up to cooking the food stuff and cleaning up. While the bbq is in progress, some of the folks discovered baby oysters growing on the rocks nearby and was busy hammering them out to try. You can literally see Jason running from the rocks to the beach and back like a small kid everytime he got an oyster out.. haha… but thanks to him I tasted 1 of them, quite sweet but I would rather wait for them to grow up la.
Just before dinner, we were all busy dipping ourselves in the water to cool down after all the hard work of trekking to the campsite and setting up our shelters for the night. Some are busy burying people, some are busy being tarzan or monkey, I am not sure… but while all these are happening some monkeys came along and stole some peanuts, which came again the next morning and stole some of our instant noodles… so if you ever come here, keep your food secure!
When we arrived to the campsite and were setting up, we could see boats ferrying local tourists to the beach for a nice dip but unfortunately I can see some rubbish left behind when they are gone. This is the problem with our local tourists, don’t really have much respect for nature, just like most waterfalls are usually spoilt and filled with rubbish once its easily accessible.

But the climb was quite decent since it did not rain which also means leech free (but not the case when we are going back). The only thing is the weather at that time, which was really hot! The first part starts with an uphill climb of about 10 mins or so then its 10 mins downhill with another 10 mins of flat land but with 2 trees down along the path.

I am not sure if its because we are obvious tourist to them but the chicken rice is RM4.50 per plate, I can’t remember how much I pay the last time I da bao there though. Anyhow, my favourite on the island is not chicken rice but their spicy soup noodles. Its soup noodles with toppings of char siew, fishball, fish cake then added with a spicy spoon of sambal… yum yum! Also, since I am here, how can I miss the pangkor style nasi lemak… santan rice with a piece of curry fish on top plus… a nice cup of local roasted coffee
.
The ferry to and from Pangkor is run by 2 companies now… Pangkor Duta and Pan Silver… both offer tickets at RM5 per way for adult and RM3 per way for kids. The ferry are all airconditioned and comfortable but some do offer semi open air seats. I remember those days when I was a kid, its was the old wooden ferry where you can stand outside or at the back or climb up to the top deck which are much more fun!
I took the group to visit Nam Tai (GPS: N3 40.624 E100 59.187) in Sg Besar just north of Sekinchan in Sabak Bernam for breakfast… I visited this place with a few of the managers from office when we did a R&D retreat in Pangkor. Their nasi lemak here is really good, 2 types, 1 is normal nasi lemak and the other is Pulut Lemak (replacing rice with pulut). Their toast is also good and they also offer things like fried noodles and all. I didn’t order the white coffee but Joe said its the best
.
Conclusion from the trip is that, Teluk Segadas (GPS: N4 11.463 E100 34.349) is really a great campsite that I don’t mind going back… just hope that the place can be maintained and remains unspoilt for time to come
. Finally thanks to Sky, Ed, Joe, Jason, Daniel, Hui Lee, Wai Pei, Jenny, Jon, Simon, Melvin, Mohan, Gary, Cat, Nat, Elaine, Asli, Nigel, Noel and Shin for making this trip a good one! See you guys all in the next makan or camping trip ya
.

Its been more than a year since our camping trip last year at Jerangkang and this time we had planned to head out to Teluk Segadas in Pulau Pangkor.
