The good thing about visiting Digital Mall in Section 14 besides being able to boost the economy is also being able to visit the Medan Selera located behind it in the Section 14 Wet Market.

There are 2 levels to the food court and I usually visit the lower one. The Siam Laksa here is very good and unique but what caught my eye on my last visit is their Fried Pan Mee. There are quite a few places selling this and one of them is a shop specialized in various cooking style with Pan Mee in Kota Kemuning.

Fried Pan Mee

Anyway, the Fried Pan Mee is done as hokkien mee style… so its technically a Hokkien Fried Pan Mee at RM4.00. The pan mee is very thin and doesn’t look like pan mee at all at first glance. Its the usual hokkien mee fare with prawns and cabbage and a nice big spoon of sambal chili to go with it.

To cool things off… the drinks stall here offer a vast varities from coconut juice, sugar cane, juices and dessert as well. I had a bowl of leng chee kang at RM1.80.

The food choice here is good and reasonably priced for PJ standard ;) .

Miharu was telling me about this place and we had wanted to go there one Saturday morning but the queue was long with people waiting outside for a table, so we decided to skip… then one morning I picked up Sky and decided to have dim sum and decided to come here since Sky also high recommend this place.

Jin Xuan HKG Dim Sum Place

Jin Xuan is nicely renovated with half open and half air conditioned. You are then given a piece of paper to mark your order of dim sum and drinks, so your dim sum are steamed to orders but for fried stuff and all they will bring it over.

Since there are only 2 of us and couldn’t eat much… we decided to stick to the conventional dim sum of har kow (prawn dumpling), siew mai (pork), steamed fishpaste, pork ribs and a bowl of porridge. The dim sum range from RM 3.50 to RM4.00 each and RM3.50 for the porridge. A pot of jasmine tea for 2 persons cost RM3.00. Prices are ok since the size of the dim sum are quite decent too.

Dim Sum means “touching the heart” in Chinese, so character it should have includes being fine, elegant, well prepared and so delicious that it touches your heart when eating it. I would have to say that the dim sum here is quite good, above average but have yet to touch my heart la… hahaha… but pricing is ok and taste is good, so no wonder they have such long queues. Hope that they can maintain their quality of food plus service here, doing a good job so far :) .

Miharu “da bao”  a few times from this place before and I was surprised that a Lam Mee from the shopping complex can taste so good… its not cheap though at RM8.80 per bowl, probably most of it goes to the rental! They have a set meal, which you can choose a meal you fancy (lam mee, lam rice, lam mushroom, etc.) with a side of your choice plus a cup of green tea.

I ordered the set at RM15, choosed the lam koay teow with a side of fried dumpling and foo chuk plus a green tea. Miharu topped up with another bowl of lam mee at RM8.80.

The lam mee have 2 prawns, some chicken and some dumpling meat covered with its thick and nice gravvy. The vinegar here is quite good too, nice to add on to the lam mee.

Not a bad place to eat at all but just that price side, really on the high side and oh ya, take away cost extra for the nice packaging provided. Interior is clean and modern type la… good for a quick meal and light chat :) .
