Its been a while since I visited Seng Weng Yong Tau Foo for lunch in Kg Cempaka, PJ. Things have changed a lot here, they have now reduced the size of their yong tau foo kitchen and have incorporated stalls to sell mix rice, char koay teow, chicken rice, etc. They have also extended to the next door unit to provide more seating place.

The chicken rice stall here provides really value lunch meal, a plate of standard chicken rice goes for RM3.00 here. Yup, RM3.00 in the midst of all the increased fuel prices and the whole economy going into recession. So, if want to save money, this is the place to eat!

The chicken rice of standard portion, rice plus roast chicken and a bowl of soup. Joe asked for extra sauce as its a bit dry and the lady offered us the chicken sauce gathered during roasting. The sauce is thick and you just need to dip a little with your chicken and it makes a lot of difference. Plus, its only RM3.00, what you want la???

USJ2 is one of the good place for breakfast and lunch in the USJ area, there are 2 Chinese coffeeshop there with good food and a row of stalls selling soya bean, fried stuff, etc.

I like to go to Kedai Kopi USJ2 just next to Shell petrol station, the yong tau foo here are quite nice. Its made to order, so basically you are given a piece of paper where you note down your orders and they will then make your yong tau foo based on the order, meaning start filling up there and then.

The yong tau foo is good but the soup is not nice. To take with the yong tau foo, I like to order their curry chee cheong fun. Its chee cheong fun topped with a thick curry gravvy with mushrooms and this fried fish cake like slices.

Mambau near Port Dickson (PD) in Negeri Sembilan one of my favourite place to eat Yong Tau Foo. Just next to the roundabout coming down from the highway to the old road to PD is where this shop is located. Its basically a make shift outlet, open air with fan by the road side. Just watch out for this place on your left just after the roundabout.

They serve a variety of Yong Tau Foo here but the filling is pork instead of fish. Some of my favourite here includes their tau pok, meatballs, yau char guai, white tofu, brinjal (egg plant), etc. They even have things like egg yong tau foo. Most of the stuff here will be deep fried before serving, making things like the meatball especially yummy! Most of the yong tau foo here are sold at RM0.80 per piece.

You have the option to take it with rice or they also serve Hakka noodles to go with it. The one other thing I like best about this place is that they serve and sell the Kor Hau Kum tea leaf, which gives you a slightly tangy bitterness when you drink but retain the sweet taste in your mouth after swallowing, something nice to try ;)

Was exploring the old way to Port Dickson from Nilai and we passed by Mantin town in Negeri Sembilan and decided to check out some of the breakfast place. We made a stop at the Pusat Penjaja Mantin and checked out Gerai Makanan U Ee,

We noticed most of the tables are ordering from this stall, hence we gave it a try. I ordered the curry noodles while Jack ordered the dried noodles plus a few pieces of yong tau foo. The yong tau foo looks old school pork type, and its really good, no regret but the noodles are so so only. The curry noodles cost RM2.80 with a lot of stuff inside and I added “si-hum” or clams which cost RM0.30 more ;)

Coffee as usual in most small town is fantastically rich and fragrant, really good I must say, a good stop if you are passing by anytime ;).

This yong tau foo place is located in Kg Cempaka in Petaling Jaya which is converted into a restaurant from a corner house. They offer a range of yong tau foo at RM0.80 each and kampar fish/meatballs at RM0.40 each. You can either take it with rice, chee cheong fun or noodles that comes in curry or soup.

Taste wise is so so, fish type of paste but the environment is ok, lots of fan and easy to find parking plus a lot of staffs ready to serve.
